Big Oil&Gas company is looking for Head of Laboratory.
Function
• Manage transition phase from project to operations and ensure capability to execute required tests and analysis through commissioning to operations;
• Co-ordinate and organize Laboratory set up from project phase through to operational phases;
• Co-ordinate sampling and analysis activities to meet analytical requirements for the LNG and upstream complex;
• Authorize non routine deviation action, for non-critical tests. Approve alternate solutions and to meet the customer's needs;
• Approve the Laboratory Commissioning activities by contractor and vendors and subordinates: Mentor and supervise senior laboratory staff;
• Manage internal interfaces: QMI, Process Engineering, Operations, and Environment sections;
• Review and Approve procedures and work instructions for sampling, analysis, chemicals management and reporting, arrange hazard assessments for laboratory activities and define necessary health, safety and environmental (HSE) controls;
• Ensure laboratory staff carries out activities in accordance with the work instructions and HSE controls, within established competency levels. Supervise activities where necessary;
• Ensure first line maintenance/troubleshooting of laboratory instruments including sophisticated equipment (e.g. ICP, GCs...) and responsible for calibration and maintenance of the respective laboratory equipment. Propose maintenance contracts, approve proposals for 3rd party maintenance assistance, and supervise maintenance of laboratory equipment;
• Maintain effective liaison with the QMI, operations, technology, and environment sections;
• Provide advice on analysis methods and results; formulate reports, specifically for troubleshooting purposes;
• Provide expertise and mentorship to subordinates in laboratory for operational matters such as maintenance and calibration of equipment, quality systems, and understanding of analytical methods including the management of HSE in laboratory operations.
Requirements
• Experience and Qualifications B.Sc in Analytical Chemistry with 8-15 years’ experience in LNG/Gas plant/oilfield laboratory;
• Extensive experience managing people in an operational or remote environment;
• Working knowledge of laboratory quality management systems and laboratory information systems. Experience in managing people in a laboratory environment;
• Strong background within the LNG industry, and a strong focus on health, environment and safety and quality management systems;
• Thorough understanding of international and Russian Federation standards;
• Experience in a wide range of laboratory services;
• Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results.
