Position
Construction Engineer
Function
• Ensure and promote the use of company safety and environment rules and specifications.
• Ensure that HSE rules are respected by setting an example and reporting any infractions.
• Ensure the reliability and consistency of technical information presented to contractors.
• Exercise good judgment when selecting and ordering equipment, making sure that specifications are correct and up-to-date.
• Check the technical conformity of proposed solutions, materials, drawings and prefabrication at the contractor’s base.
• Anticipate potential problems, track material orders, and ensure that the delivery schedule is in line with planning.
• Check the quality of contractor equipment, ensuring that it is dispatched fit for its intended purpose.
• Make sure that all relevant procedures, method statements and etc. are ready for work execution.
• Participate in regular progress and coordination meetings.
• Advise contractor about optimization of resources and efficiency to meet planning milestones and deadlines.
• Provides support to the Construction Superintendent in carrying out works on site.
• Participate in “kick-off meetings” on site as required.
• Represent the company in dealing with vendors, contractors and suppliers.
• Carry out any other duties or tasks that may be assigned by his hierarchical superiors.
• Check quality, NDT, welding supervision, piping, structure and all other necessary disciplines during construction
• Establish and maintain effective working relations with relevant contractors to ensure that company objectives are met
• Appraise personnel reporting directly to him
Requirements
• Petroleum technician with experience in construction works.
• Self-motivated, schedule-oriented person with good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good English
