Position: Senior construction manager
Responsibility
• Monitors construction site activities and recommends changes to improve construction process, contracting strategy and engineering definition;
• Manages site execution through constructability, scheduling and cost control;
• Maintains construction guidelines and field manager’s process tools;
• Responsible for resources planning, project assignments, and third party service agreements;
• Supports project specific proposal preparation, i.e. contracting strategy, implementation of industry best practices, and constructability reviews;
• Assists in the review of plans and bid packages, specifications, and cost estimates for completeness, constructability, and accuracy;
• Leads site contract and scope dispute resolution, engineering reviews and change management process;
• Recognizes problems or situation that are new or without clear precedent. Evaluates alternatives and finds solutions using a systematic approach. Develops improvements and innovations to enhance project performance;
• Monitors construction phase for compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations;
• Performs field safety assessments and quality audits;
• Monitors and evaluates progress and results, and determines improvements that may be needed in work processes and personnel training and development;
• Interfaces with engineering, construction, and operations personnel to resolve site construction issues.
Experience
• Associates or Bachelors degree in engineering or construction with 10+ years field construction;
• Construction management or engineering experience or 15+ years field construction or construction management experience;
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset;
• English - Fluent;
• Willigness to travel.
