A major Oil & Gas company most famous for its exploration, production and its international sale of crude oil, natural gas and gas liquids is seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer to join a team of dedicated geoscientists in Qatar. This is a vital role that encompasses several areas of responsibility and more than one project.
Required experience and expertise:
• 10+ years experience in reservoir engineering activities emphasizing large, multi-well, reservoirs;
• Experience working on mature oil fields under water flood;
• Strong background in reservoir surveillance and optimisation;
• Experience in well test interpretation, material balance modelling and performance prediction;
• Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus;
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff, and management;
• Must have experience/knowledge of current computer software for reservoir engineering applications;
• Must be familiar with reserves evaluation, classification, and booking;
• BSc Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with a Master’s degree preferred.
Desirable experience and expertise:
• Desirable to have experience in numerical reservoir simulation;
• Desirable to working knowledge of gas condensate reservoir as well as gas field development experience;
• Desirable to have experience in reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine and special core analysis;
• Desirable to have experience mentoring less experienced engineers;
• Desirable to have experience in well performance modelling.
Standard reservoir engineering software:
1. Simulation – Eclipse 100 and 300 in particular and other software related to the Eclipse suite of programmes
2. Fluid property modelling - PVTi
3. Material balance - MBAL
4. Well test interpretation - Saphir
5. Reservoir surveillance – OFM
6. Well performance modelling - Prosper
Other information:
• This position requires relocation to Qatar;
