Job Description:
As QHSE Manager within our plant, you will provide support and guidance to the cross functional teams within the business at both local and corporate levels. Working closely with departmental managers, production staff and suppliers you will take responsibility for leading and supporting site specific QMS oversight initiatives related to product, process and facility which will include amongst others Document Control, Change Control. You will be responsible for taking lead in Environmental related issues, encouraging positive discussions whilst advising the best route and process for the business and will actively monitor environmental compliance verifying each department is adhering to the Environmental Management System (EMS) and environmental law. As QHSE Manager you will verify each department is compliant with QMS and following procedure relating to client specifications. Success in this role requires establishing and maintaining good relationships with team members across all functions of the plant - the ability to communicate key environmental requirements to the business. As QHSE Manager you will use and develop environmental standards and systems, as well as establish and use local knowledge to help ensure environmental compliance and implement best practice where possible. You will take the lead on local audits, continually reviewing work practices and making recommendations of ways in which processes and systems can be improved. As QHSE Manager you will lead in the development, maintenance and improvement of the QMS and serve within the on-site and corporate Quality Assurance function.
· Ensure all company policies surrounding stock, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met and improved upon as identified.
· Fully accountable for achieving all relevant KPIs
· Act as Manager spanning all Quality, H&S and Environmental compliance requirements and ensure they are effective for the company and are delivered throughout the business
· Development and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) - ISO 14001.
· Development of environmental objectives and targets, and their environmental management programs.
· Identify environmental aspects and impacts, carrying out relevant risk assessments.
· Host monthly QHSE meetings, reporting back on environmental compliance issues and other related issues.
· Advise senior management in obtaining and complying with environmental legal and contractual requirements.
· Produce monthly environmental KPIs and information for senior management team.
· Record incidents and accidents, producing statistics for managers
· Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
· Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect our industry
· Monitor and analyse technical and legal standards
· Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases
· Ensure consistently high environmental and quality standards are applied and met across all departments.
· Provide assistance for Corporate Health and Safety department where required.
· Travel as and when required
· Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
Qualifications:
· Working knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management Systems
- Working knowledge of QHSE within a global business at corporate levels
· Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe)
· Working knowledge of QHSE systems ie ISO14001 and/or OHSAS18001, ISO9001
