Position description:
Reporting to Engineering Manager and under the supervision of Lead Product Engineer, the candidate will work as pump design engineer supporting the mechanical and hydraulic design activities carried out at Product Engineering department. Work place is located in Flowserve Coslada plant (Madrid, Spain).
Main responsibilities:
•Preparation of manufacturing drawings and 3D models of pump components
•Perform calculations supporting design activities following industry standards or other codes (pressure component thickness, bolting, etc.)
•Take an active role in the design and continuous improvement of existing products considering different aspects of product cycle (engineering, manufacturing, testing,…)
•Elaboration of Bill of Materials
•Support R&D and standardization activities
•Provide technical support to other Engineers / Designers in the plant
Candidate’s profile :
•Bachelor Engineering degree or equivalent and/or more than 10 (ten) years of experience working as mechanical engineer
•More than 5 (five) years of recent experience working in detailed design of rotating equipment like centrifugal pumps (preferably), steam turbines or compressors, including also impeller/runners design
•Computer Assisted Design tools (Autocad preferred)
•More than 3 (three) years of experience in 3D design. Desirable knowledge in Inventor or ProEngineer including parametric design
•Deep knowledge of engineering tolerancing
•Information technology tools (Windows, Office, Email, etc.)
•Intermediate – Advance MS Excel knowledge
•Machining and different manufacturing methods knowledge. Desirable experience working in a Mechanical Shop environment
•Skills in performing and assessing structural calculations using FEA software
•English language, fluent in Spanish desirable
•Availability to travel 5%-10% of time
