Applications Engineer (m/f)

The Applications Engineer (m/f) is the linking pin from after an assignment is booked with our sales department till it is taken up by production. You will be in contact with the client and discuss the details of the order, its technicalities and all the rest that is needed to guarantee that Flowserve can maintain its high service and quality level to the satisfaction of the client.
As this role will put you in contact with clients all over the world, we are also looking for candidates with language and cultural experience in the Balkan states, Eastern Europe or the Far East.
Your Principle Accountabilities
• Provide technical, application and quotation support for Valve and Automation products to customers.
• Perform and coordinate large construction pricing quotations. Read and interpret specification requirements, develop costs, prepare quotation and coordinate pricing/commercial approval with the appropriate authorization level.
• Coordinate order entry to ensure customer requirements are properly communicated internally.
• Manage execution of customer contracts: Order specification, acceptance, planning, and communication.
• Display the appropriate initiative, flexibility and perseverance to satisfy the customer's request within the guidelines of Villach’s performance objectives and published procedures.
• Proactively monitor project schedule, costs, risks and deliverables; develop contingency plans as necessary.
• Liaison with quality, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and export compliance to obtain status information and coordinate information flow in both directions between the customer and the company.
Your Qualifications
• Graduate of a technical college (mechanical engineering)
• Relevant work experience in Sales and knowledge in hydraulic flow-machines especially in pumps desired
• Good communication skills in English required, further language skills desired. German language skills are advantageous.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to establish priorities and work to specific deadlines
• Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office

This position is subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Industry in the version for Machine Building and Steel Construction Industry Occupation. The yearly salary is calculated to start at about € 32.800. A higher payment may be awarded, depending on expertise and skill.
