Job Title: Fluid and Waste Engineer
Location: Iraq
Assignment Type: Rotational
Type: Contract
Experience: 5+ years
Purpose:
To develop drilling & completion fluids and cement programs, optimizing the investments and applying the highest standards of engineering integrity, safety and environmental protection
Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
− Defines and plans drilling and completion fluids, as well as cement slurries in order to achieve technical objectives in safe, efficient and cost effective manner
− Prepares mud, cement and completion fluids programs including all information as specified in Company procedure
− Prepares estimated cost breakdown for chemicals and related services of wells to be drilled or worked over
− Follows up on well operations, and recommend changes in drilling / completion fluids aimed to optimize efficiency of operations
− Ensures drilling & completion fluids, as well as cement slurries are mixed and maintained as per program and good oilfield practice
− Makes recommendations and provide specialist assistance when drilling problems occur
Responsibilities concerning the HSE:
To demonstrate a personal engagement in the HSE domain while respecting the politics and the recommendations for rules and standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
− BS in Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering or related type of engineering or science
− At least 3 - 5 years of Fluid and Waste engineering experience
Professional qualifications:
− Certifications in completion and workover technologies may be required
Training and courses:
− Specialized training in Fluid and Waste engineering technology and HSE
Languages:
− Intermediate knowledge of English
Required Competencies:
Knowledge and skills:
− Drilling Activities: Horizontal Drilling, Drilling Fluids & Cement & Cement Operations Design, Well drilling experience
− Completion Activities: Gravel Pack
− High Profile Drilling: Extended Reach Drilling, Hp/Ht Drilling, Wellbore Stability/Sand Production/Prediction & Control
− High Profile Completion, workover, rigless: Well Stimulation (Acid), Well Stimulation (Frac), Stimulation/Completion/Gravel Pack/Frac. Jobs Fluids Design & Engineering
− Data management and computer literacy
