Necessary skills and experience
• Experience of supervising oilfield construction work on site
• Experience of managing construction contracts
• Working level English
• Ability to supervise a team of multi-discipline specialists
• Ability to plan, organize, communicate and lead
• Must have advanced computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft programs and project management software
• Ability to work unsupervised, with little support, in a small company environment
• Ability to form a team with Drilling and Operations managers on site
• Willingness to take responsibility as a high-profile role model for the company’s values
• 15+ years experience
Additional skills that are an advantage
• Experience of working in the West Siberian oil and gas industry
• International exposure
Role
• Act as the senior Engineer based in the field, managing business as part of a field-based management team with the Drilling and Operations managers.
• Report day-to-day to the Production Director, with functional responsibility to the Engineering Director.
• As one of the senior staff on site, personally set the standard of behavior that complies with laws and with regulations, and promotes the company’s reputation with the public.
• Be the main face of the company to its engineering contractors and build a constructive business relationship with them.
• Provide sound engineering advice to solve tactical problems; seek support from specialists when needed.
• Lead a team of engineering specialists
• Prevent conflicts and optimize use of resources (people, money and equipment)
Main Responsibilities
• Ensure staff, contractors and subcontractors comply with company quality, health, safety, security and environmental policies.
• Ensure quality of capital construction works in the field
• Deliver projects within agreed schedule and budget
• Ensure that reports are accurate and distributed to relevant individuals
• Manage material issued to construction contractor
• Resolve clashes in construction scope
• Manage contracts and contractors, avoiding claims
• Together with operations, drilling, fracturing and completions, coordinate and manage an integrated plan to mitigate uncertainties and associated risks
