Position Overview: Is responsible for projects (definition), execution, schedule and cost, safety meetings, GSS KPI's.
Position Overview: Follows a defined project management methodology. Primary ongoing responsibility is for management of projects. Focuses on meeting project commitments, including communication with sponsors, stakeholders, etc. May or may not have direct reports.
Critical thinking and Problem solving: Recognizes problems or situation that are new or without clear precedent. Evaluates alternative and finds solutions using a systematic approach, develops improvements and innovations to enhance project performance
Influencing & Leading: Influencing skills to impact choices on immediate and long term direction. Understands and effectively uses established polices and procedures. Knows how to use organization to achieve objectives, strategically positions project for short and long term goals
Decision Making: Makes timely decisions based upon mix of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment. Understand how and when to make a choice, how and when to escalate issues. Able to analyze risk and future impact of decision
Safety: Monitors entire project execution life cycle for compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations. Ownership for specific program elements e.g. project safety plan, design safety and construction site safety plan Responsibilities
• Monitors and evaluates progress and results, and determines improvements that may be needed in operating procedures or ultimate objectives.
• Provides expert resolution of issues and monitors integration of work.
• Implements step changes to the work process.
• Coordinates all work within the scope of assigned projects, and ensures that objectives are met and within budget.
• Identifies and implements effective methods of operation that support business objectives and company values.
• Be innovative in developing and implementing new approaches and methods.
• Champions new ideas or a position.
• Makes tough decisions in a timely manner, sometimes without complete information and under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Considers global impact of decisions.
• Influences peers from other groups.
• Leads teams in making complex and/or controversial decisions.
• Provides challenging assignments, sets clear objectives, and measures the performance of others.
• Empowers others to make decisions.
• Organizes, plans and prioritizes work of team and self.
• Identifies and implements effective methods of operation that support business objectives and company values. Requirements
• Bachelors/Masters in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of increasingly responsible experience, including experience successfully managing various projects.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is required within 1 year of employment or assignment
• Maintains knowledge of industry initiatives in the areas of new product development and PM techniques.
• Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of own discipline.
• Through understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools: Imitate, definition/scope/ requirements, execute and control: scope, plans, resources deliverables, planning etc...
