Location: Saudi Arabia
Our client is one of the leading, global drilling contractors. Currently, due to requirements of Saudi Arabia branch, we are looking for experienced onshore drilling professionals, who would be interested in long term employment.
The Role:
Ensure the safe, economical and efficient performance of drilling, well completion and work over activities in accordance with Statutory legislation, client’s program, Company’s procedures and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe, economical and efficient performance of the drilling, well completion and work over activities by supervising the execution of the activities in compliance with Company’s standards, contractual requirements, Client’s program and current legislation;
- Liaise on behalf of Company with the Client’s representative on site regarding contract management and interpretation;
- Instruct the Tourpusher in the execution of the activities in order to ensure the activities are carried out in accordance to the client’s program;
- Ensure the activities carried out to prepare , use, control the mud system are performed in accordance to the program and instructions received by client;
- Ensure the progress of the activities is in line with the program and report to client any discrepancy;
- Check periodically the efficiency of the safety equipment and devices present on the rig site;
- Be familiar with handling and operating safely all drilling related tools and equipment;
- Be familiar with running and testing of the BOP and how to operate the same and the diverter system; 9) Be familiar with the established well control procedures;
- Be familiar with the established drilling operational procedures;
- Ensure reporting routines are fulfiled;
- Cooperate with the technical engineers to set up a proper maintenance plan for the drilling equipment;
- Ensure the stock level of spare parts and consumables for the drilling equipment is kept at an appropriate level by requesting the equipment whenever deemed necessary;
- Coordinate the rig moving activities by supervising the activity of the drilling crew, the lifting activites and verifying that the equipment is correctly positioned on the new location;
- Ensure all classification society and authorities rules and regulations applicable to his/her area are adhered to;
- Ensure that all orders and instructions received verbally or in writing are fully understood and adhered to;
- Be safety conscious in all his work and behaviour and use compulsory protective equipment;
- Be responsible for safe working conditions on the rig site at all times;
- Ensure that his subordinates use complusory protective equipment;
- Ensure that all relevant work and safety procedures issued by company and Operator are adhered to;
- Apply and ensure the correct application of prescribed safety standards and regulations;
- Lead the safety meetings of the drilling crew;
- Support the master in the organization of safety drills and actively partecipate to the same;
- Partecipate in the preparation of the Safe Job Analysis before start-up of the non routine operation or job and ensure completion of risk assessment where required;
- Instruct his/her subordinates of their duties and responsabilities and of any special precaution to be taken prior to start up of any work;
- Promptly report any safety hazard, accident, near-miss accident and non-conformance. to his/her immediate superior
- Be responsible to maintain a proper housekeeping on the rig site
Requirements:
- previous experience in onshore drilling with cyber/joystick (latest generation rigs)
- high level of HSE awarness
- recent or valid IWCF or IADC well cap
- very good knowledge of English
RIG SPECS:
Power: 2000-3000 HP; Drawworks: Cyber/Joystick (latest generation); Top Drive Rigs; Engines: Usually CAT; Drilling depth: up to 9000 meters (27k feet); 25% H2S Gas Wells;
